PRIMUS Canada jazzed about the 2006 TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival

PRIMUS Canada is pleased to have signed on as a major sponsor of this summer's TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival, running from June 23 through to July 3. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the festival, which has become a popular tradition in Toronto. In past, the festival has featured such artists as Diana Krall, Oscar Peterson, Harry Connick Jr., and many more world-class performers. Two big names on this year’s stage include Etta James and Dave Brubeck, who are among a group of more than 1,500 participating musicians. The heart of the festival is located downtown at Nathan Phillips Square in a 1,200 seat main stage pavilion and the festival features 350 performances at approximately 40 different venues throughout the city, including the Hummingbird Centre and Massey Hall.

PRIMUS Canada's two core components of the sponsorship are:

1) 'Canada Day presented by Primus' – Taking place on the single biggest day of the festival , the event welcomes families with free performances throughout the day at Nathan Philips Square , as well as a big-ticket paid performance in the evening.

2) 'The Primus Youth Stage' - Located in the heart of Toronto's business district at the Oscar Peterson Square near King & Bay Street (formerly known as the Toronto Dominion Courtyard), the event features five free noon-hour outdoor concerts performed by some of the city's most talented and up-and-coming musicians from the University of Toronto, York University & Humber College (June 23, 26, 27, 28, & 29) .

Come and join us to hear great jazz performed by world-class musicians!
